AVFM-II Area-Velocity Flow Meter can be installed to
monitor and transmit flow readings to a municipal
Sewage Treatment Plant.
The AVFM-II is used (instead of a Stingray) because
4-20mA or 0-5V outputs are required to transmit
readings through an RF transmitter to a receiver and "Wingraph" software running at the treatment plant.
Data is transmitted every 15 minutes.
Teletronic Denmark designed a stainless steel mounting bracket suspended just below the manhole
cover.

The AVFM and Stingray are easy to use instruments for open channels and partially full pipe
|

 |
AVFM-II electronics, battery and radio transmitter are wrapped in heavy plastic bags to
protect from street runoff water.
Close the
manhole and drive
away.
Periodically
the 12VDC
battery is
replaced
with a
charged
one.
